HEMP AND RICE

thrifted hemp shirt

More from summer preview. I cannot wait to reside in this outfit with ease 24/7. This week is suppose to pick up speed on sunshine after a depressingly rainy weekend so i will have to wear again...with lots and lots of gold! I say that now but I will more likely be minimal about the gold jewelry. I found this hemp beauty at the DAV veterans thrift department store in Oceanside. I love the cut, the material, and the detailed stitching of the word "IRIE" in place of what could have potentially been a a pocket on the chest. Paired with my favorite "pj" shorts and sandals that still go hard to this day from Phillip Lim's 2008 spring collection. Right now: tired, antsy for the week ahead, rice, Real Housewives of Atlanta and online window shopping.

BOBBLE HEAD

Summer preview! It's hot out here for a pimp (sung out exactly like in the song in that Hustle and Flow movie)! You can see the exhaustion in my face as I clench and hold on to my bobble for dear life but I love the heat even when it abuses me.

FRISKY BUSINESS

Taking refuge at my neighbors' house because their fire place is freaking awesome (so warm that if you're close enough where I am you will be tainted with the paranoia that you are just going to burst into flames especially if you have something furry on or close enough to you) and I missed this cutie. Isn't she glam? her bitchy demonic alter ego seemed to have been caught in this shot. I promise she doesn't look/ isn't this mean. It's @#$%ing freezing... which I love because now I can wear fluffy furry over sized outerwear and more leather and people around here won't find it that utterly ridiculous. Puha, as if I was saving all that and not already wearing it since before it was devastatingly cold or rather me at least since I shouldn't speak for everyone.  My family on the east coast die in laughter over the fact that i panic when it is 40 degrees, that's like a blessed winter day for them. I live by a courthouse so I usually walk through there and I ran into a friend that was going to traffic court to deal with a train hopping ticket. I decided to go in with her and as we are going through the metal detector, one of the cops stopped me, called me over and took me to the side... He wanted to know where i got my pants/ mobile home and if they were real leather. Then he wanted to know if i customized my platform docs/ mobile home and I told him that I bought them exactly the way he saw them off of ebay and he was utterly astounded. He literally started caressing my wax coated jeans curious if they were leather and it obv made a scene and everyone thought I was being further frisked for something. He concluded his personal investigation by citing me with great style...

BREAK ON THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE

photos by Jessica Sanchez

vintage fur jacket and silk shirt

At my friend's good vs. evil bad themed birthday party this weekend. There was literally a dark side on one side of the house and a good bright side on the other. These were taken on the good side where my white on white had full home field advantage. And full advantage I took [of that wall] concluding in white on white on white. Meanwhile, my bottom half, consisting of my ubiquitous wax coated jeans and platform boots combo and my Frankenstein earrings, were well qualified to admit me to the dark side.

"YOU'RE SO HESH"

this shot looks right in black and white here.

vintage fur and tshirt
H&M jeans
Dr. Martens platform boots
Forever 21 beanie

I love throwing a vintage fur over an old grungy tee. Mixing a little skater with a little YSL never hurt nobody. Words cannot even describe... wait... CHIC. Nevermind.
